She is often distressed about her lack of endowments(though her legs and cute face often turn heads), but makes up for it with an unparalleled sense of fashion outside of school. Her sense of style can be described as that of a fashionista. However, in school, she generally just wears her school uniform with a few accessories here and there, and on a windy day will often accessorize with a cardigan. She is, however, infamous for her rather short skirt. Shiori likes for all aspects of her appearance to be impeccable—and that means every last hair better be in its proper place. On a good day, she will often curl her hair. Inside and outside of school, Shiori takes pride in carrying herself with a model’s demeanor—this means every last inch of her is adorned with the latest trends to hit Japan’s shores. You get the idea. However, Shiori is sly, and rather hard to catch, which makes her one less enemy no one wants to make. She is generally rather detached from people she believes not to be genuinely good-natured at heart, and reverts to a snarky, overbearing sarcasm around those sorts. Some find her humor to be charming, while others find her obnoxious and arrogant. However, no matter how annoying people generally thinks she is, no one can deny her outstanding academia and charismatic aura. Though friendless she flawlessly maintains a cheerful demeanor that often baffles her peers and elders alike. She does not, however, care for keeping an impeccable reputation, as she pays little mind to what those around her think of her personality. Shiori is secure with her true personality for the most part. While she does have her share of insecurities, she keeps them under lock and key for none but herself to see. Most of her insecurities stem from her idea that any task worth doing is worth doing efficiently and impeccably, as it was carved into her nature at quite a young age. Even if the task done is perfect, it is still far from perfection in her eyes. Shiori adores her strange hobbies such as free running and hellraising, simply because they seem to be the only tasks that she does not seem to think requires—too much---meticulous scrutiny. Because of her strange hobbies, she has come to know the beat of the city fairly well, and knows who to contact for what purposes--- yet another reason few would want to make an enemy of her. Because of her sheltered upbringing and rather abrupt transition from good girl to bad, she often struggles in normal situations which she feels she has to be friendly to the other individual. Having hardly received affectionate gestures from her parents, things such as hugs are alien concepts to her, and will often cause her to uncharacteristically revert to an awkward state of stammering or cursing(yet another one of her many bad habits). She does have some sort of conscience buried deep, deep, deep, deep down. When she truly believes something to be right and just, she will see it through regardless of the consequence or the reward. Shiori is rather comfortable with her feminine identity--- obviously, she has no problem sporting the shortest skirt that adheres to the school’s guidelines. Personality-wise, however, she hardly qualifies as a girl. For example, her strange hobbies(shopping aside) , her vulgarity, and her deepest darkest secret of “accidentally” flipping the channel to the latest and greatest anime keep her from associating completely with a feminine identity. As a result of favoring a more masculine personality, she has a hard time expressing personal feelings verbally. On a side note, Shiori is often plagued with irrational fears, most of which stem from unbelievable anime-esque scenarios which are less than likely to occur in the real world. CHARACTER TIME PERIOD: Shiori has lived around Iwatodai for as long as she can remember. It was not until she came to get to know Seiryu did she notice all the strange things happening about the city... HISTORY: Shiori grew up in a typical household of three, including herself, her mother, and father. She was a rather shy, softspoken child, but she was happy nonetheless. It was not until her middle school days did her relationship with her parents become strained. They began to pressure her to perform well in all fields, such as academia, sports, and the arts. Being the shy child she was, however, she did not complain. Shiori was content remaining this way, even though she had few--if really any-- friends. Things turned for the worst when her parents began to fight throughout her high school career, until it reached a point where it pushed Shiori to abandon her softspoken ways and rebel. On a whim she dyed her black hair blond, and gradually became the little hellraiser she is today. It began with a snarky attitude, which then developed into a strange obsession with fireworks and troublemaking about the school. As a result, she cultivated a nickname based on the general consensus of her piers: Yellow Devil. Shiori did not, however, abandon her academic prowess in the transition from good girl to bad. Throughout this transition, she used her childhood talents to her advantage and developed new ones. For example, she was always rather talented at track and gymnastics--- why not develop a knack for free-running? Because of her dangerous hobbies, she would often return home covered in bandages, though her parents took little notice. When she failed to gain the acknowledgment she had long desired from her parents, she abandoned her efforts to try and get them to quit fighting, and ultimately lost faith in about 95% of humanity. Among the remaining 5% were the calculated few she truly believed to be the good-natured people of the world—though she had never known anyone she truly though to be so immaculate of heart. Because of her peculiarities among her peers at school, she was often a target of gossip and occasional bullying. This did not last long. Shiori dished out revenge like no other, and eventually came to be nearly unparalleled within the halls of Gekkoukan. She eventually completely abandoned any concern she had for the opinion of those around her, and continued about her hellish ways to her heart’s content. Shiori was quite adept at what she did too, for it became quite a task to attribute any crime to her due to sheer lack of evidence. Her criminal ways often made it hard for anyone to want to socialize with her, not that she minded. Eventually she came to develop even more peculiarities. Though she was definitely far from bad-looking, it took some serious balls for some to even look her in the eye. Her situation at home, however, failed to improve. Shiori became more and more emotionally distraught, until she finally found her a rather odd resolution. Shiori would live her life for herself, and herself only. Even if she died friendless and alone, as long as she lived life without regret and lived happily, she would be content not living for anyone else. It was in that moment of resolution did she first hear Seiryu's voice, and he would often guide her through life with the wisest and most clever of decisions. Shiori often attributed such advice to “instinct”, but little did she know it was only the beginning of a long and arduous journey as a persona user.
