Hair:
Generically enough, he has blonde hair. His hair is in a military cut, so it's rather short and straight. When it comes to facial hair, he goes unshaven, so pretty much any areas where facial hair can grow is bearded.

Usually he simply wears a pair of black jeans, and some sort of t-shirt. As for his shoes, he prefers to wear a pair of combat boots. Of course, he will wear whatever is appropiate depending on the situation.

Extra:
He has a few scars in various places on his body, but most of them are usually covered by clothing. Around his neck is a military dog tag, from when he was still in the Australian military. Note though, that dog tags from that country are circular. As for his weight, hardly any of that is fat. Even after retiring from service, he still works out and what not. Because of this, he's, bluntly put, a very large, board shouldered man, and rather cut. He is also a dark skinned man, as his hertiage is that of being Indigenous Australian.

Perhaps the most important thing, however, is that he still wears his old wedding ring. It's a somewhat cheap, gold ring, and nothing more.

Personality:
Dane is essentially a man with a serious nature to most, preferring not to speak with random strangers and what not. This is mainly due to his temper, despite how often he tries to keep calm around people. This usually works, since he's often avoided, so it's a win-win situation. Most habits and such others have annoy Dane, who doesn't really understand some of the what he would call the stupidity that most people do. He simply has not been drilled to understand some of these antics, and is often lost when it comes to most of what would be funny moments. This was due to his about twenty-two years of service in the Australian military, and it is obvious that he would be rather disciplined.

However, if someone were to actually speak with him to the point of a more, not so hostile basis, Dane will show to have calmed down in reality. This man merely prefers not to let others close to him on a personal level, especially other woman his age. Essentially, despite the fact that his wife is dead, Dane feels that he is still bound to her, and simply marrying another woman would replace what he had lost in the wrong way. In this state of non-hostility, Dane has managed to laugh and chuckle about a few things, since his deceased wife had made him open up to these kinds of emotions. The current reason for his lack of friendship so to speak, is his only son. Dane is rather protective of him, and fears that letting the wrong person in would become a horrible experience for the boy, and as such, he is much, much kinder to his son than anyone else. Also note- anyone that harms his son in any way will cause Dane's anger to rise to extreme levels almost instantly, and that is never a good thing to encounter.

Although this man does not enjoy activities with people other than his son, Dane simply is not one to just sit down and do nothing, unless matters call for it. He is a physically active man, and despite having retired from the military, works out quite often and practices both boxing and wrestling. This is also why he decided to coach for both the boxing and wrestling teams at Gekkokaun- it is something for him to do, and he might as well find another way to get paid aside from occasional pension.

History:
He was born an only child in Sydney, Australia, to the typical two parent household. In all seriousness, there was nothing too fantastic about his childhood, being average overall. It was mainly his mother who was strict on school, but not too much, but both his parents taught Dane from a youngster on how not to act, despite the......... energy his father had. He simply did as he was told, and went through school without question. It was the usual routine for him, but Dane thought nothing of it. He certainly wasn't the brightest kid, but anything lower than a C in a class was a not so swell idea. Although how he was raised had nothing to do with this, Dane preferred not to interact with other kids too much, but not in a 'I hate everyone' sort of way.

Years later, when he reached high school, Dane had decided to join the wrestling team, and since it was available, the boxing team as well. On the upside, both teams played during different seasons, so he could manage them both. Of course, his schooling remained the same, getting more or less the same grades as he had his entire life so far. Though it was different, Dane had once more began to the same exact routine he would for a few more years, not thinking anything of it. This sort of thing was nothing to ponder on, to him at least, seeing as how he saw no importance in questioning what should be done. Towards the end of his high school career, Dane had decided upon joining the military, and once he graduated, he promptly went off in joined the Australian military.

For years he continuously served in the military, thinking of doing nothing else that what he was doing now. Eventually, however, things weren't exactly going to be routine all the time. On one of his off duty breaks he got, which he tries and refuses to take, Dane met a Japanese woman named Satome Yamagishi, who was a photographer. It was nothing more than a short conversation, and really an accidental encounter, with Dane in the back of his mind really wanting nothing more to do with her. As chance would have it though, the man ended up meeting her more and more, and although Satome saw this as perfectly normal for people to do, Dane was unsure about all this. Despite this little factor, he eventually came to realize, after meeting with her so often, that he showed feelings for her, which was odd and foreign to him.

At one point, it came to be that the large man had discovered the feeling of love. Because of this, though Dane avoided it as much as he could, Satome doing the same, the two had ended up settling on marriage. Despite being in the military, and being used to whatever violent things that went on, he was nervous about the concept of marriage. It definately wasn't something he was prepared for, but it went through without a problem. So at the age of thirty-one years old, Dane now had a wife to hopefully live the rest of his life with. Around a year and three months later, it became apparent that Satome had become pregnant with their first child, which made Dane more alert. Marriage was still something he was unsure of, and now he had a kid on the way.

Throughout the next nine months, due to the fact that his wife was alone most of the time, Dane often worried about her current state. She tried to calm him down whenever he came back to visit briefly, but he was never entirely certain about the situation. Still, time never stops for anyone, and nine months went by rather too quickly for the man to prepare. On the upside, he was with his wife when she went into labor, and despite panicking a little when it started, Dane was sure to get his wife to the hospital as quickly as he could. For a few hours, which seemed to have taken a long while to get by, the man was anxious to know what was going on. After these hours of pacing back and forth, he eventually was sent in to see his wife and their new kid. Dane was relieved to know everything went smoothly, and his newborn son was named Tomonari Joshua Cahal.

For the first seven years of his son's life, however, Dane was hardly ever there for him. Over these years, he noticed how shy his son was, especially around Dane himself. He figured out though that this was probably natural, since military life typically required a lot of time away from family. When he was thirty-eight years old, he realized that enough was enough, and although hesitant, retired from the military after twenty-two years of service to live with his family. For the next six months after that, Dane settled in at home as best as he could, although his son still had issues being near the man. It still couldn't be avoided, and Dane pretty much left the boy alone. During these six months though, he and has wife had decided to move to Japan, really for a change of pace. This was when his wife taught him to speak Japanese, since it would be rather difficult living there otherwise.

Once the move to Japan was made, another six months went by with the small family settling into a new home in Iwatodai. Everything went smoothly, until a rather devestating event occurred. It became apparent that Dane's wife had some form of cancer. Although she was sent to the hospital, it was a form of cancer that couldn't be treated. The most that could be done was to watch over the woman until she died, which Dane did so without question. About a week after Satome was confirmed to have cancer, she died quietly. This upset Dane in more ways than one, and became rather worried about what would happen now. She was the only person who could really guide him in taking care of their son, whom Dane started to become rather protective over even moreso than before.

For the next seven years, up until the current time, Dane simply lived alone with his son, who he noticed to have slowly become attatched to the man. It somewhat worried Dane at first, but he eventually recognized that this was rather normal for his son to do so. Without Satome around, neither of them could go to anyone else but each other. So, Dane simply watched over the boy as he grew up, doing whatever he could to keep them going. It became the same old routine at one point, something which Dane was quite familiar with this sort of thing by now. The only thing that recently occurred is around four years before the present time, when he decided to coach the boxing and wrestling teams at the local Gekkokaun High School. Otherwise, he's just living through life as he always has.
