I can hear the jets flying overhead, making lines across the darkening sky. And when the sun is going down I can take a taxi into town. Wheels keep on spinning round spinning round spinning round spinning round and round.
Even though it hurts to make a wish
I received the courage to fight from you
burn my D R E A D CALL ME:
Koromaru Hayate
ALTERNATIVELY:
"Koro-chan. Please, please! Don't call me that"
I HAVE LIVED:
" I was born on 21 January at the stroke of midnight, I've been told. And I'm sixteen years of age."
DEEP DOWN, I AM:
"...A boy?"
...MY PREFERENCE?
"It's debatable. I'm pretty sure I'm straight though."
I WORK AS:
"I do a lot of shrine work, but school comes first. I'm a second year." YOU'LL SEE ME WITH:
"Those crazy people in SEES."
I won't forget your kind smile
Or your eyes hidden with sorrow
the path is O P E N HEIGHT:
6'0
WEIGHT:
"Oh, need I say? I'm 155 pounds."
HAIR:
"It's pretty white. I guess I prematurely grayed or something. It's kind of sad."
EYES:
"They're red. Don't stare! People have asked me if I had contacts. I don't, they're naturally this absurd colour."
GENERAL STYLE:
"I dress comfortably and in clothing that allows for the utmost mobility. None of that tight clothing, but it can't be too lose either. I guess what I'm trying to say is that if you saw me walking down the street, you wouldn't take a second glance. I dress in average clothing."
EXTRAS:
"I nearly always carry a bookbag with me. What can I say? I'm a bit of a closeted nerd. I'm currently on a Shakespeare kick, but it varies. I need to better my English! These translations aren't cutting it for me. And my bookbag has snacks and water, both of which are very important. You can never be too overly-prepared, that's what I say."
At the last moment their souls sing
Along haunting voices of lone shadows
deep breath deep B R E A T H POSITIVES:
+ "I'm intelligent. I know that sounds blunt, but, well, I am." + "I work way too much, and I thoroughly enjoy working." + "I love animals. Especially dogs. I have a puppy--well, she's not exactly a puppy anymore--named Hachiko. She's a shiba inu and pretty much the love of my life." + "I like to think I'm pretty good at judging people's moods. That doesn't mean, though, that I say the right things at the right times though. Now that's rarity if I've ever heard of one." + "I'm a pretty rational person. It's best to look at all the options before making a fail move."
NEGATIVES:
-"I'm a very blunt man. I usually say the wrong things at the wrong times." - "...And I'm pretty shy, so when I do speak, I've been told it's rude. I don't think I'm a rude person, but hey, maybe I am." - "I'm awkward. I don't even need everyone to tell me this--I know it." - "And I'm arrogant to boot! Man, this list is kind of making me look like a prick. I'm not, really. At least, I hope not."
OVERALL PERSONALITY:
"I guess you could say I'm kind of a weird person. To a point, I'm a stereotypical nerd. I love reading, I love mathematics, and I love school. But I also love to run. If I could run run run all day, I would. Honestly, I think that 99 percent of the time, I'd choose to either run or read rather than socialise. I'm not really a talker. If I found someone who wants to talk about books, shrines, or running, then I'll probably talk all day incessantly, but otherwise? No. I'm not fantastic in finding common ground with people that I can't automatically figure out. Socially, I stick to my kind of group--you know, the nerdy people.
"That's really a good thing, you know, that I don't branch out. I'm really blunt. I've never found a good reason for beating around the bush, so whatever is on my mind usually comes out. My kind of people usually don't mind this, or they don't tell me if they do. But besides my little social group, I don't talk to a whole lot of people. People usually label me as either "the quiet, geeky kid" or "the arrogant, blunt guy", and that really varies on whether they've had a conversation with me or not. Those both probably aren't the greatest things to be labeled as, but it's fine. I am who I am.
"When it comes down to my friends, I may not have many, but they're stuck with me. If anyone or anything tried to hurt them, even a tiny, insignificant bit, I'd take it down, no questions asked. I love my friends--I may not be the best with emotions or anything, but I'd do anything for them. Usually, I'd say I'm pretty rational and level-headed. It's pretty rare for things to get under my skin. But my friends, the shrine, and my dog are the things that I really am not rational about. If harm comes upon any of those, I blow up."
CHARACTER TIME PERIOD:
"I think--and this sounds really, really nutty-- I was once a dog. I remember this shrine, which could be why I am obsessed with shrine work, and I remember waiting there, and waiting and waiting. He never came home. And then I was attacked, and then some stuff happened that I'm pretty vague on. But I'm pretty sure that in a past life I was a dog."
HISTORY:
"I was born on 21 January at the stroke of midnight to Koromaru Keiko. I don't remember too much of my mother to be honest. I've seen pictures of her--she was a bright eyed lady with a smile that took up her whole face--but I don't actually remember that face smiling at me. She passed away when I turned three, died in a car crash, I've been told. My father bolted the scene when he found out that my mom was pregnant, so obviously he wasn't in the picture. So I went on to live with my uncle. He's a pretty cool guy, Uncle Kazuki. He takes care of the Naganaki Shrine. Uncle Kazuki raised me like I was his own kid and he instilled upon me many of my obsessions now. He started teaching me to read and write as soon as possible, and then he taught me mathematics. He often affirmed that the two best possible things in the world are knowledge and faith, and while I'd have to figure out the latter myself, he'd help me as much as possible with the former.
"When I was little, I used to play at the shrine when Uncle would be doing his work. I ran around, chased birds, climbed trees, the usual kiddy things. All of my free time I wanted to spend outside. Then, when I matured a little, all I wanted to do was be inside and read. Uncle Kazuki owned a plethora of books--his cramped apartment was essentially a small library--and my goal was to read all of them. I still haven't made that goal quite yet. He loves English literature and since his English is impeccable, he has loads of books in their native language. I still haven't managed to crack through those yet. English is probably my worst subject--which really isn't saying much because I'm still pretty damned good at it.
"But I digress. Back to the story! I started my decent into the nerdy ring around 6th grade. That was when the sunshine outside didn't hold my interest as well as mythology, mathematics, or composition. A year or so later, I started noticing that I actually missed the outside world, and so I started spending my extra time when not at school, studying, or reading helping maintain the shrine. Surprisingly, I actually enjoyed the work too. I didn't much believe in the spirits at the time, but just working and cleaning was enough to keep me happy.
"Now we'll skip a few years--nothing interesting. As you can probably tell, I don't live a particularly unusual life--or more accurately, I didn't life an interesting life back then. I was cleaning up the shrine late at night--I studied all through the day and evening and lost track of time as I so often do--so I ventured outside to do my daily work. It was around midnight, a typical night. And then something happened. There was this green haze and this giant anomaly entered my shrine and started raging upon the playground and architecture. I freaked out--I hadn't a clue what to do! I knew I had to stop it. My whole life, it seemed, was dedicated to this shrine in one way or another. So I fought. And I got my ass kicked big time. I was pretty sure that I was done for, and then I felt this surge of energy in my insides bursting out of me. I screamed and this three-headed black dog emerged and killed the shadow. And then it went away and I needed to sleep in my sorry pile of blood. The people in SEES found me not too long after the doggy killed the black thing, and they fixed me up and explained what the dog, Cerberus, my Persona, was.
"And that's pretty much where I am today. It's all pretty surreal, the Dark Hour, my puppy Persona. My life hasn't changed a ton, really. I still do my shrine work, I still study, run, and read. Now I just do something different with my late night time."
