It's most likely the first word that comes to mind when describing Sofia. There were times where some would mistaken her for being mute. The Italian girl won't even ask many questions either unless if it is significant. A second word to describe her with is attentive. She's a good listener, never asking to repeat a question she couldn't hear. She's very alert as well. For instance, when a door opens, Sofia will immediately look into it's direction to see who is coming in. This makes her a bit paranoid as well since she will sit straight sometimes when she feels uneasy. She usually has a blank, cautious look plastered on her face, giving the impression to most people that she is a loner who doesn't want to talk. Well, they're pretty much right, but not in the way you'd assume. Yes, she's a loner, but she doesn't take pride of it. In fact, she's suffering from it, since being lonely took out a large piece of her happiness. She's always wanted friends, but her father made her too scared to do it. He didn't want his daughter to be close to anyone, and made sure she communicated with people outside of her family as little as possible. Instead of hating talking, Sofia is actually quite frightened of it. As a result, she is very hesitant to open up towards others, and can't entirely trust them unless proven wrong. Despite the harsh life she had endured, Sofia, deep inside, is incredibly kindhearted. She's a natural guardian, always looking out for others and never abandoning anyone. She's considerate, respectful, forgiving, and caring, traits she has now thanks to her mother who was the most positive influence of her life. She's also very trusting, to the point of gullibility. Probably because she missed out on a real childhood, Sofia has a bit of a black and white view of the world, making her a bit innocent and naive. While she is at the same time forgiving, she can become vengeful, especially if it involves a loved one. Friends of Sofia will ensure an entirely loyal relationship with her. She will never tell secrets and will always give a helping hand when asked. The raven-haired girl has a girly side of her that her father forcefully suppressed. Sofia, for the most part, has a very lady-like and aloof image to her. Inside, however, is a teenager with normal girlish needs. Others could find her frightening, distant and uninviting. It's up to you whether or not to dig into her depths. ♠ CHARACTER TIME PERIOD Present. ♠ HISTORY Sofia was born in Sicily as the youngest child of Antonio and Poala Ferrero. Sicily was the birthplace of the Italian Mafia, and it still was thriving with groups even two centuries later. Antonio was part of these groups, and was one of the more dangerous and well-known. He had a powerful group behind his back, having branches extending all throughout the island. He was known to be ruthless, but also protective of his family. However, he was extremely overbearing, selfish, and paranoid. He did anything he could to protect the Ferrero name, even if it involved hurting his own family. From childhood to her teenage years, life could have been better for Sofia. She had seen things that any child shouldn't witness. Blood, drugs, guns, prostitution, gambling, violence-- it surrounded her, and was inescapable. She received little love in her life. Never once did her father tell Sofia that he loved her, since he was too busy in his gray world of killing and money. Her older brothers, Nicolas and Dante-- who followed in their father's footsteps-- never talked to her, acknowledging her merely as a useless, embarrassing little sister. The only real friend the girl had was her own mother, who she frequently spent time with. Life was something very lonely for Sofia. Antonio had intimidated her into being the silent girl she is today, with his unrelenting threats and warnings about leaking any information about herself. He had given her so many rules and limits even to the point of disallowing her from being too close with anybody except her family. In hindsight, Sofia never really had a "childhood." Despite all of this, Sofia never disliked her father, since he had given her so much and had cared for her safety intently, though not in a way that was loving. Antonio was a rich man who would not accept incompetent children, so he subjected Sofia to the highest education he could afford, piling loads of stress and expectations on her. He opted to give her homeschooling so that his daughter would not be under the danger of being kidnapped or killed by enemies. The Italian girl was quite adept to learning and was intelligent, but was lonely since she had no other people her age to communicate with. To give Sofia the skill to fend for herself, Antonia also provided her fencing lessons with the knife, and sometimes guns. At this time Sofia discovered how well she could use her body, as she was flexible, quick, and had high stamina. She did not mind the combat lessons she received, since it gave her an opportunity to protect the ones dear to her. ` Poala Ferrero was growing tired of Antonio and deeply wished to separate from him along with Sofia. Her plan was to move far away in Japan where she had lived for seven years when she had her first husband, Mark Tamura. However, it was much too dangerous to leave, since it would be betraying the Ferreros. And divorcing would not be something Antonio would accept. One day, Paola was granted an opportunity, though it was one that would forever make her heart sick. As Sofia turned seventeen, chaos struck the Ferreros. A traitor among them had given out critical information to a rival group, which led to a fateful, long ambush. Antonio, Nicolas, and Dante were killed in the battle, as well as the leader of the enemy. Both groups eventually disbanded, giving Paola the chance to take her husband's 2 million dollars and fleeing to Japan with Sofia. She chose Inaba to be their new home, since she had worked as a nurse there before when she was with Mark. Recent events had made Sofia unable to continue with her studies for many months, forcing her to repeat another year of high school. It felt as if her life was reborn. Another thing is her relationship to Mark Tamura. If he's her father-in-law, does it mean she's married to a son of his? Or did you mean he's currently her step-father?
They're just little bits that don't make sense to me, but I'd rather have them cleared out before I accept the profile.
