He can compliment people and make them feel good about themselves fairly easily. He can appear as the most helpful guy ever, if you're nice to him. But that's all that is-- appearance. While Junno may work at wooing people and showing them a good time, there's actually a pretty small bunch of people he can stand. His bitterness has gotten in the way of making true friends, since he ends up becoming jealous of what people have over him, even if it's not always true. Once he does find people he likes, all those appearances become real, and he makes sure to point out the better traits of his friends and help them out when they're in need. CHARACTER TIME PERIOD: Current. HISTORY: Kurogane Junnosuke comes from an average family consisting of his father, mother and himself. His father, Kurogane Yuichirou, is a salary man for a rather independent company, working solely to provide for his family. Kurogane Tomoko, an office lady/house wife combination since Junno's birth, is his caring and somewhat overprotective mother. Life was normal, rather uneventful, until Junnosuke turned 14. It was then that he met his aunt Yuuko, his father’s younger sister. Aunt Yuuko had been abroad the last 12 years, due to her work, and had finally decided to return home. She had settled in rather quickly, her own little apartment in Tokyo, fully furnished and comfortable. This didn’t really surprise anyone; Yuuko had always been self-sufficient and seemed well off the last time they saw her. Her only complaint was being lonely. And so, it came as no surprise when she asked her brother to allow Junno to spend some time with her. Her argument included the opinion that the boy would benefit from studying in Tokyo and would be better prepared for life in the big city once he left for university and that some time with her only nephew would better lift her spirits. It was a win-win situation for everyone except the Kurogane couple. Though they had their doubts on the matter, they eventually gave in, thinking it was indeed the best for their son. From age 14 until shortly after he turned 16, Junnosuke lived with his aunt in the bustling city. He went to school, made friends, got a part-time job… all normal things for a boy his age. Things changed on the eve of his 15th birthday, though: he had finally figured out what aunt Yuuko did for a living. All the men he had seen her with, the expensive gifts, ridiculous amount of cash… Aunt Yuuko was a prostitute. When he finally built up enough courage, he asked, just to be sure. Somehow, her response didn’t bother him as much as he thought it should. Actually, he was relieved to hear her admit it so easily. Maybe it had to do more with the thought of her trusting him enough to just admit it. Junnosuke had become interested in the trade. Something about it was alluring to him, possibly the attention he could get from others, the professionalism of the ones involved despite the negative views of society... and the amount of money to be earned didn't sound too bad, either. He asked Yuuko to “teach him the ropes.” After months of begging and following her around while she was on the job, she finally agreed, though not before he swore he would only practice on targets she selected herself and that he wouldn’t go “all the way” with any clients. After he had learned the basics, Yuuko got him a job at a schoolboy-themed host café. He would wear a fake academy uniform and serve drinks to female patrons and generally act like a shy schoolboy. He often played the tsundere stuck-up kid, a personality that stuck with him and he’s still trying to shake off. He learned to wield knives as a parlor trick to entertain the patrons. Being handy with knives also helped when he had the late shift at work, though he never really got to use his skill in such situations, it made him feel somewhat safe. This way of life ended when his parents found out and forced him to come back home. His job and general attitude were not becoming of a young gentleman, or so they reasoned. He went back to his old school, found another job and tried to be the good son his parents wanted him to be, though he always wished he could go back to aunt Yuuko’s and continue with his somewhat independent life. Ultimately, Junnosuke decided to strike out on his own by moving to Iwatodai, getting his own apartment and paying for his education with the money he earned and saved. Here, he continued to work as an escort at night once his shifts in his part-time job at Chagall Café ended. He placed too much importance on his job as an escort, however, and was just barely able to graduate. With such mediocre grades, he found it hard to enter a good college. Trying used up time and money, so he decided to ultimately give up on that and stick to his safe job at Chagall Café. Junno knows nothing lasts forever though, and this includes his job as a waiter and his looks. He plans to get a better life, no matter what it takes.
