She is chivalrous and polite to everyone she meet, so polite that she often comes off as terse or cold. Despite this demeanor, she is actually very caring - believing it to be her duty to lend a helping hand whenever possible - and loyal to a fault. She tends to see the world in black and white with very little gray, especially when it comes to laws and rules. As long as the law seems just, one should always uphold it and those that don't uphold it deserve punishment. Initial impressions are very important and while she will not waste time with someone distasteful to her, she believes very strongly in forgiveness and will not hold a grudge if she believes the person is sorry for whatever wrong they committed. This willingness to forgive and her loyalty means that Alexis can be too trusting of people, she believes in the good within everyone. Along with her simplistic views of right and wrong, Alexis can be seen as something of an idealist. CHARACTER TIME PERIOD: Current time. HISTORY: Alexis was born and raised in England. Following what was something of a family tradition, she was sent away to an old fashioned boarding school at a young age. She lived there and learned to respect their strict rules during the school year then during the holidays, she'd return home to her parents and their stories of knights in the family's history. These stories fascinated her and she supplemented them with novels from the school library, not just about European knights but about similar figures around the world. Inspired by the valiant men and women in her stories, she decided she wanted to uphold the values of the knight in her own life. She swore to adhere to the Virtues of a Knight. When she graduated, she became a police officer at the local precinct to serve the people and to help uphold the laws she was taught were vital and infallible. However, her sheltered life in the boarding school did not quite prepare her for the darker nature of people that she saw while on the job. Dealing with the low of the low, there was so little of the honor and integrity that she valued in the people she wanted to protect. Even her coworkers seemed to care little for it, acting almost as corrupt as some of the criminals she arrested. It wasn't long before she became a bit disillusioned with her position. A bit of hope for her arose when she was offered a chance to transfer to a different precinct in another country. Alexis remembered the stories she'd read of Japan, tales of samurai and their strict moral code. Although she wasn't naive enough to believe that the age of samurai carried into today, she decided to pin her hopes on the chance that their society was at least more honor bound than England today and transferred to the police department of Inaba.
