Personality:
Since the incident with his parents when he was young. Kolya, now calling himself 'Akai' has been very quiet and antisocial. He usually subdues any outward emotion, but does show some care on occaision. More common, though, is when he is angered. When this happens, he gets incredibly angry and will begin to lose concentration. He won't think as clearly, but his regard for self-preservation goes out the window, and he is probably worse to fight when he's like this. Akai doesn't always go into the blind fury, as he's learned to control his anger, though it does eek out on occaision, even when not in battle.

History:
Kolya started off as a very normal child. He grew up with his normal parents and for most of his life, nothing too interesting happened. One year, his family decided to visit Japan on vacation. He purchased a ceramic fox mask as a souvenir and would run around playing while wearing it. It was so interesting to Kolya to be in another country, and he was enjoying the vacation greatly.
One evening, Kolya was running around in front of his parents and got lost. Worried at first, he managed to stay calm so he could find his way back to them more effectively. Panic wouldn't have helped him at all, and would have just made him even more late in finding them.
It probably would have been better if he'd been delayed by panic. He found his parents just in time to see them murdered right in front of him. In shock and acting out of pure emotion and adrenaline, Kolya grabbed a pipe and lunged forward at the man who just took his parents' lives. With a swing to the temple, he brought the man to the ground and knocked the gun from his hands. Over and over, the boy brought the pipe down on the man's head. The only way for the corpse to be identified would be his driver's license, which would look nothing like the man it once belonged to.
A horrified Kolya dropped the pipe and ran. He kept running, not entirely sure where he was going. The next morning, after falling asleep in a random alleyway, it registered how messy he was. He snuck into a nearby bathroom and used the sink to clean the blood off. When he went to wash his face... he forgot to take off the mask. Looking up into the mirror, all he saw was the white and red face of a fox staring back. This image burnt into his head, and now he doesn't even recognize he has a normal face beneath the mask.
Eventually, he was found and put in an orphanage. He was cold to everyone there, and almost entirely silent. After a few years, he was put into a foster home and enrolled in a Japanese school. Kolya knew very little Japanese, so he did learn enough to get by in the short amount of time he stayed there. His foster family cared enough for him and tried to stabilize him, but nobody knew the cause of his personality. People generally left him alone at school, too. There was no chance for him to be how he was before, but there was starting to be a state of normalcy.
Children are cruel, however, and Kolya was frequently bullied. He could usually ignore it, as it was mostly verbal, but one child tried to take off his mask.
Bad. Idea.
That particular student was practically reduced to a bloody mess in the middle of the hallway. Both legs and an arm broken, nose shattered, jaw fractured, teeth missing, and countless other injuries. Neither his foster family nor anyone at the school ever saw him after he ran. The boy survived, but was in rehab for months.
With a better understanding, Kolya could do more, and began going by a different name. 'Akai Kiba', or 'Red Fang'. Doing different jobs underground, he was able to buy clothing as he grew and food to feed himself, never staying in one place for very long in case someone would be trying to find him, and not with a job offer.
Years passed like this, with nothing out of the 'ordinary' happening. Akai did develop a sort of care for human life, but mostly in the way that 'people should use their lives, not take their own or others'. Unless one person heavily deserves it for one reason or another. While resting on a bridge one evening, a girl came up next to him, ready to throw herself off. Apparently the man she was in love with and lived for left her. "Ah, you look so fine," Akai stopped her. "It's a pity you have no brains." The girl turned, and he was able to dissuade her from jumping. It's not that he particularly cared for her in any way, but suicide was always just wasting a life.
After convincing her not to jump, Akai began to leave. The girl began to follow him. She persisted on staying with him, so he decided not to fight her anymore. As long as she kept up and didn't get in his way, he didn't care one way or the other what she did. Bijou ended up doing jobs alongside him and actually proving useful, getting a mask of her own and using the name Kuroi Hitomi. Eventually, the two ended up finding out about an organization called KAFIR, and decided to join them for the work.
