Fuji also strongly dislikes anyone who would without good reason. Fuji is quite self sacrificing, and is very giving. He frequently finds himself giving to charity, and will almost always do a favor for a friend before his own goals. CHARACTER TIME PERIOD: Persona 3 HISTORY: Fuji had an unhappy, borderline traumatic childhood. First of all, his father was a drinker and was rarely sober, leading Fuji and his mother to leave while he was just 2 due to some serious domestic issues. Fuji and Maya lived in a rather an apartment that was nearly in a constant state of squaller. It was single bedroom, and about the only positives were tv, cable, electricity, and indoor plumbing. The paint was peeling, the floors were moldy, the entire place wreaked of mildew, and there wasn't a single neighbor who didn't have issues in some way. Fuji started going to school as early as he could and generally received good grades. Fuji was good friends with another kid in his grade, and life was pretty good despite the poor living conditions. This went down hill very quickly on Fuji's 6th birthday. Fuji's estranged father broke into the apartment and killed both Fuji's friend who was over and his mother, but a slip of the hand merely left Fuji in critical condition at the hospital. When Fuji had recovered, Fuji was almost immediately asked to testify at his father's trial. Fuji tried best he could but suffered a mental breakdown on the stand. Because of the lack of definitive evidence (he had been wearing gloves and a short sleeve shirt, leaving no evidence that he had been there), Fuji's father walked off free. Fuji was soon sent straight to an orphanage. Fuji was for two weeks mute due to the trauma he had suffered and having watched his father walk off with no remorse. Now 16, Fuji has resolved to do as much as he can for the world and to live better than his father.
