Not that he isn't muscular, he is certainly toned physically, but he isn't a body builder. He likes to keep that simple average, not grotesquely beefy, but not too lanky either. His hair is a dark auburn, and he wears it unkept, only taking a comb to it on school days, and even then, he only combs it down slightly. Shin's hair isn't all that long, his bangs reaching down to his eyebrows, while some parts of his hair obscures his ears. His skin has a tan complexion to it, showing that he tends to get out in the sun frequently. His most unique features are his red eyes, which would easily be confused for a dark shade of brown if one were to give Shin a passing glance. The clothes he wears varies with the time of year. During school days, Shin tends to just stick to his school uniform. He wears the jacket to his uniform unbuttoned, and his white dress shirt is left to hang down over his waistline, preferring to not tuck it into his pants. On his days off, or when "exploring", Shinosuke tends to wear a black jacket adorned with large tan cuffs and a white cross on the back. Along with this jacket, he wears a brown belt, a pair of black jeans, and a pair of dark brown hiking boots. OVERALL PERSONALITY: This young man is always open to conversation, and tries to treat everyone he meets in a respectful manner, though he can be somewhat critical and rude towards given individuals. While Shinosuke is a disciplined young man, he does not have kind words towards authority figures, especially the police. He didn't normally act this way, as he used to be rather shy around new people, but after moving to Inaba, he has opened up quite a bit. His is infallibly loyal to his allies, and would gladly bite the proverbial bullet for them, as he knows that they would do the same for him. He cannot tolerate betrayal or cowardice, and trying to gain back his trust can be difficult due to his stubborn will. However, this adamant will allows him to see all of his projects or goals to the end, regardless of what may happen. HISTORY: Shinosuke was born and spent the first twelve years of his life within the city of Nagano, living with his mother, who raised him as a single parent due to Furuya's biological father not wanting to aid in raising the child. Shinosuke's mother worked as a private investigator, and without a truely fixed income, was forced to sell off her home and move to an apartment complex within Nagano. Shinosuke spent most of his life out on the town, spending only portions of his time within his mother's apartment, and even then it was only to sleep, eat with his mother, and work on school work. It was perhaps his frequent absence from his home that spared him the same fate as his mother. Having just turned 13, Shinosuke was unnable to handle what had occured to his mother, finding her battered corpse within their apartment. He took it quite badly, refraining from speaking for quite some time. However, upon moving in with his Uncle not even a month later, Shinosuke seemed to be back to his normal self. Any reference of the incident didn't seem to effect him much, and whether this was because he had repressed the memory, or just could not handle the grief, was unknown to both Furuya's uncle and his therapists. However, the incident had left Shinosuke with Haemophobia, and worked with doctors to overcome this while attending kickboxing lessons, so as to keep his physical body in shape. Shinosuke then dedicated himself to his studies, making it a personal vendetta to try and discover who it was that had killed his mother, but up till now, he did not have any leads to go on. Shin's tragic incident involving his mother was enough to shake the boy to the core, altering who he is quite drastically, awakening his arcana. He searches for a way to close his mother's case, seeking an end to such a sad chapter in his life so that he may move on. Shinosuke wants nothing more than to move on and start a new chapter in his life, so that he can finally put his mother's soul to rest. The Death Arcana is in reference to both the incident and Shinosuke's own psychological rebirth, effectively shedding his initially shy shell and becoming more outgoing and talkative. However, he still clings to his mother's memory, and his inability to let go of his grudges links him even closer to both sides of the Death Arcana. PERSONA:  The Big Bad Wolf originated from the tale of Little Red Riding Hood, and used dark deeds and violence to devour the little girl and her grandmother, before he was killed by the Woodcutter. The beast takes the form of a large, jet black wolf, whose eyes and mouth are almost bleach white. The wolf's very body seems to be made out of a dark energy, as if it could take any form it wishes, but remains in a wolf like state. One would question how such a creature could connect to Shinosuke, but they are certainly apparent. The creature's almost non physical body could easily represent the dark feelings that Shinosuke keeps hidden from the world around him. With this mask, he does his best to perform his tasks, deceiving those around him much like the very wolf whom acts as his other self. After the tragic loss of his mother, Shinosuke seeks the truth, and even though he does not know it consciously, he will do everything in his power to find the killer. The Big Bad Wolf is always seen with a smile on it's muzzle, alluding to Shinosuke's constantly optimistic behavior, and how it acts as a facade. And, much like the Wolf within the story, Shinosuke and his persona are intelligent, both preferring to fight through magic and strategy, rather than muscle their way through an issue. However, the wolf is still a powerful creature, and while Furuya isn't exactly a powerhouse, he could still hold his own in a fist fight.
