The first son, and only child, in a somewhat bizarre marriage exchange. He was never really shown much attention by his parents as they were too wrapped up in their own lives to even notice him. Thus giving him a more hardened shell on his heart than most kids. If not for his uncle Being the only one who showed him any attention he may have never known a loving embrace. The sad truth is, the only reason his parents got married was because his mother's father put together a large sum of money if his kids got married, to help them with their life. In truth his mother had him because she didn't want her new " husband " to just run off with his share of the money. Around 10 his father was in a very bad accident and put into a coma. The cause of this accident was said to be a malfunction with a pipe that exploded under pressure. They visited the hospital regularly to check up on his father. But, seeing as Irvine honestly did not know the man, he would wander off on his own. That's when he met his first love in the hospital, Ami. She suffered from a rare heart condition, having palpitation in her heart beat regularly. This went on for a few months until Irvine's father died when his mother pulled the plug to get her share of the money back. Feeling as if the child would then be mistreated as he had no purpose left in his mothers life, Jiraru took the child into his care. Of course this was simple to do as Irvine's mother saw now use in the child any longer. With the responsibility of raising his nephew now on his shoulders Jiraru wondered how he would be able to keep up his seemingly irresponsible and devil-may-care life style. He wanted to teach Irvine that even though he seemed not to allow things to influence and bother him like it did his biological parents that there was a still a responsibility to living the life style he did. To instill a sense of wrong and right, a sense of love and responsibility. This was now Jiraru's job. Feeling the need to take Irvine out of school Jiraru hired a tutor to teach the boy at his apartment. The rumors of what his mother had done to both him and his father spread rapidly and Jiraru thought it be best if Irvine was kept out of the spotlight. This did however have a negative effect on the young boy. It showed him just how cruel people could be and the reality that not everything was as simple as his uncle had once told him it was. A harder shell grew over the boys heart, making it nigh impossible for anyone to get close to him save for his uncle and Ami. Jiraru and Irvine continued to see Ami in the hospital all the while. Ami was in and out of the hospital constantly for years with her condition. Of course Irvine did not care as he began to grow feeling for the young woman now. At fifteen they began to date, Ami even introduced both Irvine and Jiraru to her parents, which went better than one would have guessed. After all the formalities and the glow of a first time romance wore off the two stayed as close as they were when they were children. This carried on for a few years, Irvine doing his school work then going out with Ami when she was not in the hospital for a check up or overnight stay. For the first time since he was young the world became a happy place for him again, or so he had thought. On his 17th birthday Irvine went to see Ami in the hospital for one of her check ups, what he found was his worst nightmare come true. When trying to get up to her floor he is stopped by a nurse as a group of them rush by and into her room, followed by a doctor. Due to her condition Ami suffered a cardiac arrest while in the hospital and dies. This tragic event in the young mans life leaves him with a large scar on his heart and a pessimistic view on life. From there on he just wandered through life trying to take the life lessons his uncle taught him about. He could hear his uncles voice in his head. " Son, I know it may be hard. But listen to me, do you want to end up like your parents? Selfish, hateful and uncaring of everything around them? Or will you take my advice and continue to be the happy young man that you were when she was alive? Don't let her love die in vain Irvine..please son. " Irvine could never answer the question. It was something that weighed on his heart heavily. All he knew right now was that he had to put on a happy face for everyone around him all the while keeping his heart filled with sadness and anger hidden from the world. It was if life just flowed endlessly from there. A blur to the young man who shut himself off from everything and everyone. On Irvine's 20th birthday his uncle suggested getting a job, thinking it would help Irvine meet new people. And not wanting his uncle to continue to worry about him Irvine went down to the coffee house that him and his uncle visited regularly to apply for a job there. Once accepted Irvine began to work immediately, throwing himself head long into the work to take away the pain that still lingered in his soul. Four years Irvine worked at this coffee house. Once just a way to escape the pain of his childhood it slowly became a haven for him. He made friends with the patrons and even became a great advice giver to those he saw were in the same position he himself was once in. His once fake smile was now replaced by a new one, but once work was over it was back to the way he had been. Can he make the decision to overcome this? Only time can tell for the young man. Struggling with the decision on what he wants become after the events in his childhood haunts Irvine daily. To become selfish and self centered or to become free from it all and find enlightenment from the trial and tribulations he has gone though. His inability to allow himself to change holds him back and forces him to continue his downward spiral. Feeling like the choice is solely on his shoulders does not help in his fight against the two sides of it, only adds to his frustration and want to be done and free from everything. PERSONA:  The Rougarou is both a Native American and Louisiana mythological being. It is said that the monster can be created and many ways. Sometimes by a witch and other times by a Rougarou that already exists. It is sometimes said that the Rougarou resembles the common Werewolf or a demon in the lore from Louisiana. And when it comes to the Native American lore it is sometimes associated with a being called a skin walker. The Rougarou was once a man who wanted to be rich and free. So he made a deal with a very powerful witch. If it were to give him wealth he would marry her. But instead he tricked her, took the money and left. The man lived a lavish life style. He became more arrogant, selfish and lazy as time went by. The man grew very large and very unhealthy with the way he lived his life now. One morning while waking from bed he was confronted by the witch he struck the bargain with. She spoke to him saying, " You cheated me once my love, not again. You have two choices: me or the money. " Feeling a sick uneasy feeling in his stomach he began to sweat. Which should he pick? All he ever wanted was the money as a means to be free from a meager life. Was that so bad? Of course not! In anger he stared down the horrific looking witch and said, " I don't care about you. Or anyone else! I'm in this for me. And if you think I'm going to marry some ugly witch like you, forge- " He was cut off suddenly. His throat grew tight and his eyes watered. As he fell to his knees he heard a beautiful voice ring from the witches lips, " Such a shame. You were a handsome man at one point. Now you will be as ugly as I was. " At those words the man looked up. No longer standing there was an ugly old woman, instead there was a beautiful and young girl. Her looks unparalleled in beauty. She stepped over to the man and smiled, standing there with her purpose fulfilled. " You are now cursed little Rougarou. For all eternity you will hunger but never be full. You will want but never be given. Contemplate your decisions. " And with that, everything was gone. The once wealthy fat man was now a sickly skeleton like demon demon. Gaunt with glowing florescent eyes and hideous needle like teeth were the mans new features. Forever there to help him think about his choices and how he could have been a better man. The connection between Irvine and his Persona is a delicate one. Two sides of the same coin perhaps. The Persona Rougarou symbolizes a being of pure self interest, greed and an inability to change the way it once was. Things that Irvine himself struggles with. It is as if he stares down his dark side every time his Persona comes out. The man he could eventually become, the path he may choose, lies before him in the grotesque features of the Rougarou. The Rougarou seems to be the inner turmoil that Irvine fights with, as such a dark Persona of himself more than anything. It shows him that even though he thinks he is a good person, his inner most desires may be to lead a life revolving around him only as he tries to keep people away. Perhaps thinking that it is other people that need to change their lives to better suit him in his search for self pity and freedom from everything. The feeling that if he doesn't continue to hang on to his rope, that he may fall and never get back up again. HIGH AFFINITY: Strong against Dark and Fire attacks.
