Personality:
Mari is for the most part a kind and compassionate woman. She dislikes violence in general, but it doesn't stop her from being overcome by vengeful feelings over her boyfriend's death. While usually intelligent and able to think level-headedly, Mari can also be prone to worrying, especially when children or young ones are involved. She would like to have faith in humanity, but she has seen that during desperate times humans resort to greed and violence. While this saddens her, it motivates her more than anything to continue to care for those around her and hope that they will do the same.
Timeline:
Before defeating Kudlak, still has memories of the Lockdown, though.
History:
Mari Mochizuki grew up in a loving family. She was the oldest of her family, her younger siblings not being born until she was eight years old. She loved them dearly and did her best to help her parents take care of them. Things were good, but when Mari was fourteen tragedy struck close to home, one incident after another.
The family already had three kids, but her mother was pregnant again. However, complications during the pregnancy led to the death of both Mari’s mother and her unborn child. Soon after that, her youngest sibling fell ill with a severe sickness. The family tried everything they could, but couldn’t save the child. Eventually, her father and younger brother - although years later - were both claimed to one condition or another.
But then Mari met Takeshi Nikaido and his younger brother Tadashi when she was doing tutoring at a middle school in Tokyo. She hit it off with Takeshi and the two started dating. She told him about her past and through talking with him decided that she wanted to help kids in a more medical way than an intellectual way.
Shortly after she became a nurse, though, Takeshi was murdered, a victim in what appeared to be a set of serial murders that would be called the Bloodless Murders in which all of the victims’ blood was completely drained from their bodies. Devastated by yet another loss of someone close to her, Mari is working her hardest to try and find Nikaido’s killer through whatever means necessary.
