Hair:
Medium length straight black hair tied into two even pigtails. Her back of her hair reaches the nape of her neck whilst the front is made of two thick strands of her black hair that hang in between her eyes down to just above her nose.
Eyes:
Sunken, sad large stormy gray eyes that show her emotions like her heart is on her sleeve. Her eyes rarely show any form of determination or courage but there are times when her eyes alight with a drive and passion, her eyes seem clearer when that rare moment happens.

Mayu wears a combination of clothing, however she tends to wear a lightweight powder blue, fake furred lined jacket, left unbuttoned with a white shirt underneath it and a pink cute cartoon bunny logo on it. Her lower body is covered in a skirt the color light blue that reaches past her knees while her lower legs are covered with high white socks and on her feet is a pair of blue and white sneakers. Sometimes she'll wear a white shirt with a bunny logo and a pair of blue denim boy shorts with white sneakers. In school she'll wear her uniform a formal black and gray knee length skirt and sailor top shirt with black dress shoes.

Personality:
Mayu is the last person you'd expect to be upfront and personal. With a shy and quiet disposition and a aura of depression she seems like a girl with a long past of difficulties. Growing up in a family that expects so much from you and you couldn't deliver put a strong blow on her self-esteem and lack of backbone. She rarely speaks out of tone and seems more like a follower than a leader, taking in her role and never going against it.
Deep down however through her young life of depression she developed a sense of using her "issues" as a "weapon" as sorts. Mayu managed to cultivate a facade that she could use when she wanted something even in the days she wasn't depressed, making people fall for her deceit she easily made them believe she was a helpless and pathetic little girl when in reality she got some dirt on them.
Despite her cruel personality underneath she really hates using this side of her unless needed. She is one who uses her ace at the last moment so to speak. And even with her sad and lonely attitude fake or not she is spiteful, spiteful of all the people who live their lives never having to be someone their not and having to achieve something just to get their parents to notice they exist.
Mayu above all hates being herself and tries to hide it as much as she can deep under her well of lies and deceit to herself and others... In the end she is a good girl with a darker personae hidden beneath, one who wants to be the nice girl people see her as truly and completely.

History:
Born in Osaka, Japan Mayu was raised in a family of hardworking, achieving people. From her Great Grandfather to her her Great Aunt, to her her Brothers and sisters they all achieved something great in their life. From becoming World renown scientists to radiating in the USA in one of the top Universities- almost each and every member of her family made themselves into something. Mayu was also expected to do something worth of the Higurashi name... As she grew up Mayu showed she wasn't a genius or bold or any of the traits her family usually showed. She was quiet, soft-spoken, and depressed. Her family couldn't understand why.
They did everything to make her realize her "potential" but it seemed to only sink her further.. Eventually they gave up on their daughter and left her to wallow in her low self esteem... By the time Mayu was ten, her family packed up and moved to Iwatodai, when her Father became head executive of some Computer company. There in a new environment with new people and places Mayu seemed hopelessly lost, her family didn't support her any more and Mayu found herself alone in her room most of the time reading, writing, and drawing wasting her life away as the world continued moving forward...
Eventually Mayu just accepted who she was learning that if she played the "innocent little girl in distress" people would give her attention and thus she wouldn't be lonely- though after a while it became apart of her and she adopted it into her personality... By the time Mayu was in her third year of Middle School she was still alone but also felt conflicted with her true self and the self she showed to others.
Hiding her feelings and emotions she began to spite everyone who had a "better life" then her becoming bitter for someone so young. Now Mayu is still the quiet and shy girl she grew to be, but she also can't shake the odd feeling of something that seems to be lurking around her... in within her as well...

Weapon of Choice:
Exploding Pellet Gun- Basically a toy that Mayu had "upgraded" to shoot medium sized pellets that explode on contact. The damage gives a bigger kick than a normal pellet gun and also seems to be able to push back some of the weaker opponents. She keeps it on her back as it still looks like a toy gun and she doesn't use it in public.
