Personality:
In a word--teenage. Junpei is passionate, insecure, afraid, and jealous, all wrapped up in a big ball and coated in a layer of chauvinism and humor. He has firmly set himself aside as a class clown in an attempt to get attention he would never otherwise possess. To a large extent, he is a positive, jocular, uplifting young man, but this is only part of Junpei’s true self that he tends to hide, which is much darker.
He is jealous very easily. His insecurity makes him question his purpose and existence, so he truly does want to be the best he can. This is why he enjoys investigating with SEES so much; he loves to play hero, and, even if no one else knows how special he is, he wants to be important.
Junpei is dirty-minded and considers himself a “ladies’ man.” He is quick to assume, and very interested in the dating scene of the friends around him, although perhaps only to scout out his own personal ambitions therein.
Timeline:
Junpei has been in SEES for a long period of time, and he has grown close to all of the members. He remembers Nyx, and that the group was supposed to fight her; however, he is fuzzy about the details, especially those regarding Ryoji and Ikutsuki.
History:
Junpei has grown up in a rather cracked household, due to his father’s excessive alcoholism. He considers his father a loser, and he does not want to end up the same way. They moved to the Iwatodai area before Junpei’s 8th grade, where he quickly cemented himself as a class clown, finding it difficult to make true friends at the beginning. He was in a class with Yukari Takeba, with whom he held a sort of love/hate relationship.
Upon going to Gekkoukan High, he became friends with Minato/ko Arisato. One would become his best friend; the other, “just friends.” These relationships grew even closer when Junpei was accepted into SEES--after he was found crying in a back alley during the Dark Hour, surrounded by Transmogrified coffins. Moving into the dorm has been a very pleasant experience for him, as he moved away from his alcoholic father, spends time with his best friend, saves the world by night, and is surrounded by pretty girls his age.
